Do you need Exchange admin access?
Yes, Exchange Auditor requires an account with Organization Management or View-Only Organization Management rights to access all the audited configurations.
Is it compatible with Exchange Online?
Exchange Auditor is designed for on-premises Exchange Server (2016, 2019 and hybrid). To audit Exchange Online, our SYAGA Audit covers the full range of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online.
Does the scan impact server performance?
No. Exchange Auditor runs in 100% read-only mode via PowerShell remoting. No change is made to the server configuration. The performance impact is negligible.
Can scans be automated?
Yes. Exchange Auditor can be scheduled via Windows Task Scheduler for recurring automatic audits: daily, weekly or monthly.
What format are the reports in?
Reports are generated as interactive HTML with built-in navigation and filters. They can also be exported to CSV for analysis in Excel, and come with ready-to-use PowerShell remediation scripts.
How long does a scan take?
A full scan takes between 5 and 15 minutes per server, depending on the size of the Exchange organisation (number of databases, connectors, transport rules, etc.).
